Comments: Sharon & Kim, Last night (12/8), we had a date night and finally redeemed the overly generous gift certificate to the Caprice that you gave us for whipping your SAT-Modem into shape. (Hope it's still working as advertised.) I enjoyed the rack of venison and Kathleen, the scallops. We toasted Georgia J's crew at every opportunity - and ther were many! Thanks gain! Fair winds & following seas! B&K

Comments: Kim and Sharon, We have really enjoyed reading your log. It sounds like you are having WAY too good a time to be seriously considering actually ever going home. Your commentary is great and the photos are spectular. Can we join you?? I am going to send a link to your website to Sarah. She is taking a year off from school -- looking at other schools for possible transfer, and also just travelling across the country. She has made it from VA to VT through eastern Canada to the upper midwest (said she nearly froze her face off in Minnesota the first week of November, not a Northern girl I suppose) then South to New Orleans and Biloxi for hurricane Katrina volunteer work for 2 weeks (she was on TV, doing a great job just standing there, in a local news feature story on a Habitat for Humanity house being built by an all female crew). Then the long drive through TX, NM, CO, UT and now on their way to your neck of the woods. We told them if you were not home, just to let themselves in (OK to break not more than one window) and to enjoy the liquor cabinet). Just kidding. They will encamp in Santa Cruz for a couple weeks, taking an EMT course in Wilderness Safety. So you see, she, and you and just about everybody is having a much better time than I. Not that working behind my desk in my law firm -- did I mention the high today is about 42 degrees here -- is not great fun. I hope you continue to have a blast. We are envious! Blain and Peg

Comments: Hi My wife and I spent four years cruising Mexico on our 48 foot ted brewer cutter. We sold her and now I am starting the enjoyable process of looking for a replacement, hopefully to purchase in the next year. I have always liked the passport 40 but when I saw a 47 I thought this boat could do it. So we are saying hello and introducing ourselves. We live in the San Juan Islands in Friday Harbor. After 4 seasons in Mexico we headed south through the canal and up to florida. If you like you can look me up at We would love to hear what your thoughts are about your boat, and we will continue to follow your travles through your web page. thanks have a great time in mexico, we did. bill and chris carli

Comments: Hey there sea dwellers!! It's great to be able to catch up with you via your website. I've been thinking about you so much as winter begins to set in up here where I'm very much land-locked. But I'm loving it. It looks like you had a great time on the Ha-Ha, congrats on the full sail experience! Not much new to report up here.... my house has a beautiful new stone entry-way and front door that's been re-located and as of Monday, will have a nice cozy wood burning stove installed. Not nearly as exciting as a new toilet seat or generator, I know. That must've gotten a bit exciting when the generator went out. I guess you have to know a lot about a lot to take off on these voyages. Happy sailing and thanks for keeping your fan club posted! Hugs to you both, Jennifer

Comments: You guys are going to have a great time. Just don't rush it, and as Captain Doug mentioned, forget the schedule (except for the Baja HaHa start). One minor tip; when you depart Cabo to cross the Sea of Cortez, go straight across. It is choppy in the middle, so you will want to minimize that discomfort. Have a fun & safe cruise, and take time to enjoy. Cliff
